Lindsay and Steven had a beautifully intimate spring wedding at the JW Marriott Muskoka. The lakes had just thawed, trees were just starting to bud again and they had such perfect weather to capture their whole day.
We started their wedding day off in their hotel room at the JW Marriott Muskoka where they were finishing up getting ready. Steven refused to see Lindsay’s dress before the day of their wedding, so they had the sweetest first look with their little one.
Once they had some time to take everything in, we went to an area by the lake called Fish Rock. The staff at the resort were amazing and more than happy to pick us up and drive us between locations. This made the day a bit easier on them with so many hills and having a stroller with them.
After arriving at Fish Rock on the shores of Lake Rosseau, we met up with their officiant – Laura from True North Ceremonies. I’ve worked with Laura a couple times now and she’s wonderful – nothing but good things to say about her. So if you’re looking for an officiant for your wedding in Muskoka, definitely reach out to her! Laura brought a friend to witness the wedding for them, with me being the other witness. I absolutely love getting to sign as a witness for you, so don’t be afraid to ask me!
Following their wedding ceremony, we went off exploring the stunning property they have to offer at the JW Marriott Muskoka.
From the rocky shorelines and huge docks to the tall pines and expansive lookouts over Lake Rosseau, they have so much to offer.
Their little one was tired after everything, so we took a quick break to allow him to have a nap. This is something that’s totally okay when you’re eloping. You do everything on your terms, so we can take breaks here and there – in fact I encourage it! Your day doesn’t need to be running around from place to place or a ten hour photo shoot. Unless that’s what you want of course. You get to decide how your day looks.. however busy or quiet you’d like it to be.
Once Lindsay, Steven and their little one had a rest, we met up on the docks just before the sunset in Muskoka for a few more wedding photos. Lindsay mentioned she was dying to take a few photos walking through the water in her dress before we left. If this is something you’ve envisioned for your day, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’ll 100% be getting in the water with you – no hesitation (especially on a hot day lol). This was such a nice way to end their day before they went for dinner to celebrate together.
